TOTR is seeking individuals to play key roles – board member, committee member- in the delivery of the TOTR mission:

“We commit to telling our individual and collective stories through high caliber productions, the creation of new plays and the development of new artists. We tell these stories in live and digital formats and are adaptive and attentive to the impact of heritage and change. We increase accessibility to theatre and, through our stories, contribute to our community’s sense of wellbeing and connection.”

Responsible to the membership of TOTR, Board members of Theatre on the Ridge are expected to take leadership responsibility that includes: 1) a passion for the role the arts should play in our community; 2) commitment to ensure that TOTR maintains history of program and service delivery in the region, and 3) a range of skills and experience to support the operational demands of a not-for-profit/registered charity, including project management, change management, financial management, revenue development and community outreach.

Qualifications

To deliver most effectively on the expectations of the strategic plan, board and committee members reflect the diversity that is our community (age, education, language, cultural, art forms, experience), and are committed to providing clarity of purpose, financial oversight, and strategic support for organizational sustainability.

TOTR’s recently approved strategic plan and its growth will benefit most from those individuals who are skilled and comfortable with both leadership and management demands, accustomed to the unique values, programs and services delivered by a not-for-profit charitable community organization in the arts, and a capacity to work in a collaborative fashion. Board and committee members should expect to be engaged directly and indirectly in the work of the Company for 3 – 5 hours per month.

Recruitment Process 2026

The Nominations Committee (the Executive Committee) will review all offers to join TOTR to ensure the optimal combination of skills and experience to guide the Company through this exciting new phase, ensuring that individuals from the community have an opportunity to contribute to the next steps required.

The Nominations Committee will interview candidates to ensure the best fit for current and impending leadership and management needs from the Board to deliver on the directions of the strategic plan.

The incoming Board and committee members are required to attend monthly Board Meetings and would be elected at the AGM, scheduled for March 24, 2026.
