First Read Club

Our First Read Club invites you to the production table with Theatre on the Ridge artistic staff and artists. Each session will feature a new play to be read aloud followed by creative discussion and conversation.
There is no cost to join. Adults of all ages are welcome.

The Adventures of the Black Girl in Her Search for God.
Based on a 1932 short story/novella by George Bernard Shaw, Lisa Coddrington’s adaptation offers a new take on one of Shaw’s more controversial tales.
The play follows a black girl who is abandoned by a white missionary for asking too many questions. Taking matters into her own hands, the Black Girl sets off to find out who or what God really is.
