Community theatre has always been at the root of the Canadian theatre industry and where the impact of live theatre begins. Durham and neighbouring regions are home to a wealth of diverse, community theatre organizations that continue to play a vital role across the region. These organizations provide more than entertainment and connection in their communities – they are a source of creative expression, opportunity and inspiration for participants and audiences right in our own backyard.

We want to celebrate and recognize the many individuals who participate in community theatre here in Durham and beyond.
